How to Select the Perfect Holiday Gift

There are four things to consider when you want to give the perfect gift.

  1. Know the receiver.  You may find something that YOU love, but since the gift is not for you, ask yourself what THEY love.  What are their hobbies, their interests, their passions?
  2. Give a gift that is personalized, something that is unique to them, something that will tug at their heartstrings.
  3. It may take some time and careful thought, but some gifts have all the elements to become an heirloom, so be willing to put in the effort needed.
  4. Present the gift with class.  Wrap it beautifully.  Attach a hand-written note.  If possible, deliver It in person.

You might think all those considerations constitute a big order, but in the end, the effort will pay off.

And I’m sure it won’t surprise you if I say I have the most perfect idea, right?

Consider this:  Take time to find a photo image that is an absolute favorite of the loved one who will receive your gift.  Don’t rush this step!  Once you have made the right selection, upload the image to Canvas on Demand.  Don’t forget that we have customer service reps standing by to walk you through the process if you have questions.  If the photo is older and needs some touch-up, Canvas on Demand can handle that too.  In a few short days, a high-quality art canvas will arrive ready to hang.  Of course, you can wrap it and write a note to go with it!  Now present the perfect gift and enjoy the delighted gasps.

Congratulations on performing some holiday magic.  You just took a favorite photo that was tucked away in a closet or drawer…and had it transformed into a family heirloom!

Below are a couple of family heirlooms that are posted on our Customer Showcase.   Happy holidays!

From Charles:  The photo was of my father, William F. Nail, taken on location when he was approximately 36 years of age. He worked as a driller on oil rigs in West Texas during the 1940s and at one time worked on what was then the deepest well ever drilled (15,000+). Canvas on Demand did an outstanding job of enlarging the photo, retaining the focus as best they could (the original was taken with a Kodak box camera). Canvas on Demand even changed the size of the enlargement at no additional cost so the photo would have a better appearance.

Charles' Heirloom

This testimonial was posted by Jill:  The photo we used is 70 years old, it’s of my parents at a Sunday School picnic, when they were dating in 1941. I had it done for my Mother’s 86th birthday. Daddy died two years ago, after 67 years and one week of marriage to Mother. This is going to be a special treasure for her.  When I opened the package today and saw the finished canvas for the first time, I stood and cried. It moved me and took my breath. You did such incredible work: touching up some flaws in the original photo, adjusting the contrast of the black and white photo just enough to make it sharp, yet maintain the appearance of an aged photo. You helped me select the perfect size frame to retain the most of the picture. And finally, you made sure it arrived in time. When I ordered this canvas, I had no idea just how lovely it would be. I send you blessings and thanks from my heart.
